When you think of Playboy, you think of pretty girls and fun parties. Who hasn’t wanted to score an invite to the Playboy Mansion at one time or another? Playboy knows their strengths and they know very well just how to capitalize on them. Everything they touch from their wildly successful Playboy clubs to their branded merchandise is always an instant fan hit. Now Playboy is branching out, and they are bringing you what they bill as the “web’s sexiest casino.” This is a whole new world for the company and while they know everything there is about running a business we are curious about whether or not they can run a game.

First impressions are always so important, and at Playboy we were a little disappointed. We were expecting something with flair and excitement, something different from what everyone else has to offer. Instead we were met with the plain and boring. The only real decoration on the site is the lovely Bunny who welcomes you to the casino. Other than that even the most disapproving female fan would have nothing to complain about. The positive side of not having much going on visually is that it makes finding what you need very easy to accomplish. At the Playboy Casino even the newest players should find the games in no time at all.

When you really get down to the bottom of things you find out that the Playboy Casino is not run by Playboy at all. No it is in fact operated by Ladbrokes. Now Playboy may be new to this whole casino thing, but Ladbrokes is not. Playing at one of their sites means that you are assured of having only top level security each and every time you play. With this kind of peace of mind, all you need to worry about is which one of their fun games you want to play first. And you know the games are going to be good as Ladbrokes brought the ever popular Microgaming Viper software with them to this partnership. The Microgaming package is used at many sites across the industry and they have quite the reputation for realistic game play in a rich format. You won’t find the overwhelming number of games at the Playboy Casino that you find at the main Ladbrokes site, but they do offer a healthy 95 offerings. Each of the games is well designed and nicely delivered, just like you would find at Ladbrokes. In fact, they might just be too much like what you would find at Ladbrokes. We would like to see more done with the Playboy brand to make this site stand out from the main Ladbrokes casino. Other than having the Playboy logo cut and pasted here and there, there really isn’t mush to make them their own unique site.

With this in mind we set out on a mission to find out just what makes the Playboy Casino different and unique. We knew that there had to be something; all we had to do was find it. When we checked out customer service we found one difference that didn’t do much to impress us. As it turns out there is no freephone support for UK customers. If they are going to share everything else with Ladbrokes why don’t they carry over this feature as well? They do still have e-mail so most players should have no trouble getting al their questions answered through that method. The next real difference we ran across was in the promotions area, and this one was in Playboy’s favor. Their new player bonus is awesome, and it is double that of what you would find at Ladbrokes. Also if you are one of those players who makes a more substantially opening deposit then you will find that your bonus is even sweeter than the regular offering. It feels like Playboy is gunning for the high rollers rather then the more everyday player. On a fun side note, when you register for your account you are sent your very own copy of Playboy: The Mansion for your home computer.

The site does have a few Instant Play games for those players who aren’t always logging on from the same computer. These games are fine for a quick play every now and then, but they can’t hold a candle to the quality of their downloading counterparts. Playboy makes the claim here that they are ready for Mac users in this format as long as they are running one of the newer operating systems. That sounds great, but we tried every way we could think of and it just doesn’t work. We think that if you are going to claim something like this to be true, then you need to make sure that it really is the case.

So at the end of the day would we send you to play at Playboy? Well, that question is met with mixed reviews. The games are great. They are well designed and are delivered in a first class format all the way. The only problem is that they are pretty much exactly what you would run into at Ladbrokes. If we wanted to play at Ladbrokes then that is where we would start. If Playboy does the work to breath some of their own personality into the great base that they have in place then this could be a really fun and exciting place to play. So, yeah, we think you should go check them out; it might just be fun to watch them grow.
