Playboy Casino Review

Very few people are not familiar with the Playboy brand and name. They have been spreading their kind of fun around since the 1950s. It seems as though everything Hef touches, from his high class gentlemen’s clubs to the Playboy magazine, turns instantly to gold. In today’s market the Playboy Company is nothing short of one huge media conglomerate. Never one to sit back and bask in their own success, Playboy is constantly searching for new and creative ways to expand their brand. Their latest offering comes to us in the form of an online casino. Now we get to go see if the reality can live up to all the hype.

From the moment you walk in the door the Playboy Casino bills it’s self as “the web’s sexiest casino!” We will have to wait and see if they can back that up, but right now we are wondering just how the large population of female casino fans will take to this style of fun. We poked around the site, and found that other than the requisite Bunny adorning the fist page, the site as a whole is pretty tame. In fact the whole casino is not really that glamorous to look at. We do like that even with out all the bells and whistles the site is still very easy to navigate and understand. They make it very easy for new players to figure out just what all the Playboy Casino has to offer, and how to make your way to the fun.

When you push through all the red tape you find that the Playboy Casino is actually operated by none other than the ever wonderful Ladbrokes. When you hear than name you know that security will never be an issue on this site. It also alludes to the fact that you will find some very nicely packaged downloading games for your enjoyment. While the floor isn’t quite as full as the main Ladbrokes site, they do offer over 95 different games for you to choose from. With this many options it would be very hard not to find at least one that you fell in love with. Just like Ladbrokes however, the games are run on the Microgaming Viper package. Viper is a popular choice for a reason and their life like playing environment is at the top of that list. If we were going to complain about anything it would be the fact that the games here are a little too much like what you would find at the normal Ladbrokes casino. Playboy is a big name and the options are practically endless as to what you could do with their brand. We would like more creativity than just a few logos scattered about here and there!

There is a small selection of Instant Win games if you don’t always find yourself sitting behind the same computer. These are fine for occasional enjoyment, but they can’t hold a candle to the quality of the downloading format. The presence of these games should mean that the site is open to Mac users, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. To be fair to them we do need to note that Playboy covers the Mac issue in their Technical section of the Help page. The only problem is that they say if you have a current enough browser then everything should work just fine. Well, we tried every browser we could think of and never met with any success. Note to Playboy; make sure that the system works before you get your customer’s hopes up!

Since, as we pointed out, the games at Playboy are pretty much exactly the same as at Ladbrokes there has to be something that sets the two apart. Well the first differences are not great for Playboy. Their site does not offer freephone support for UK customers even though Ladbrokes does. But e-mail is available at both casinos. However, Playboy answers with a very nice Welcome Bonus that was double of that which we found at Ladbrokes. It seems as though the more time we spend here the more that we get the distinct impression that the Playboy Casino it going after the high rollers more than their parent site. On a fun side note, when you set up your account at the Playboy Casino you get a free copy of “Playboy: The Mansion,” mailed to you. We don’t have our copy yet but it should be fun to get to play Hef and build our own mansion!

The Playboy Casino may claim to be as sexy as it gets, but we thought more of the games than the decor. In fact things were rather bland compared to what we were expecting. This isn’t really a problem as it is the games we are after in the end. Tell you what, try our approach. Beg someone to dress up as a bunny and bring you cocktails while you enjoy your fun. We didn’t have much luck convincing anyone to actually do it, but it was fun to try!
