They stand a good chance as it seems as through they know a thing or two about how to grow a business. You see, since their creation as a betting pool in 1928, the Tote has grown to own 450 retail outlets, employee over 4,000 people, and claim their title as the UK’s fourth largest bookmaker. That’s quite a list and it does give players a since of security to know that all that history is standing behind the casino doors. At the very least, Totesport should be a secure and safe place to play. Now is the time to go check things out for ourselves and see what it is they really have to offer.

When we poked around behind the scenes we found that Playtech is running the software show at Totesport. This very nice package offers players a unique and consistent experience every time they play. Like so many of the systems now, Playtech is available in both downloading and non-downloading formats. The more luxury downloading format has to be installed on your computer in order for you to play, but it does offer the highest quality end product. With the instant play there is nothing to install though you will give up some game quality. It’s a trade-off either way you look at it. For all of you non-Windows users milling around out there you probably already know that the instant play is the only way for you to go. Totesport does not currently support alternative systems with their downloadable format. The Playtech software does a very nice job at offering players a large number of perks and customization options. One that we always like to see from them is their “live dealer,” option. This is a great little touch that is unfortunately not offered at Totesport. If you are going to run the software, why not take advantage of all they have to offer.

We have spent some time pointing out some of the positive features found at Totesport, now we have to visit the dark side. First the site as a whole is just very uninteresting to look at. If it doesn’t look like it will be any fun to play here, then why should players think that it will be? This is an error we can bring ourselves to forgive, but the unforgivable came in the form of broken links and poor overall usability. The “Play Now,” link on the main page does not take you to the games, but instead takes you to a 404 Page Not Found error. Since we have spent quite a bit of time haunting these casinos we know there are other ways to make it to the games, but what about a new player? This is the main link and with it not working it just reflects very poorly on the site as a whole. Our next problem is that while you can play the games on a Mac system, you cannot access the free play options. To some this may seem like a small issue, but if you have to pay to even sample a game, then how many are you really going to be willing to try? Totesport needs to put in the time to make their site work; there is just no other way to say it.

Now you are going to have to bear with us for a few minutes, because this next part can be hard to follow. When the free play would not work we went in search of help. Our first stop was the site’s published help guides, but those didn’t even have basic information, much less what we were looking for. Then we went looking for guides on using the actual casino and found that there were not any to be found. A little disappointed at this point we decided it was time for professional help a started for customer support. It seems as though that page does not exist either. What does exist is a very small little link labeled “contact us.” When we found this we thought that we would be taken to a page with a list of options, instead all we got was a pop-up e-mail box. At this point we have to admit that we were really getting upset, why should all of this be so hard to do? We knew that there had to be some other kind of contact info some where on the site so we mounted a page by page search. Finally when we were inching through the help guide on downloading, we found a freephone number. This was not easy to find, and most players would have never stumbled across it. We called up the number and did receive fast and courteous service even if it was not that knowledgeable. The agent could not answer any question we had with out placing us on hold for several minutes. After all of this, do we really have to tell you how we were feeling towards Totesport?

When we went to check out promotions we found another shining area for Totesport. They have a very well designed system where players get 1% cash back on all wagers over $10 and a special monthly promotion that is always changing. Also if you enjoy slots, you will be very pleased with the progressive jackpot totals. These are some very exciting totals that could affect someone’s quality of life.

Totesport Casino is one of those places that is really good at some things and really bad at others. It is like they focused in on a few key points and then forgot to take care of the details. If they could bring the rest of their site up to the quality of their games, they would really have something first class to offer. Until then, the only players that will realize what all they have going for them are the ones stubborn enough to wade through all that mess. We can’t wait to see the place all cleaned up!
